What is a good tablet-to-monitor scale ratio?

A ratio of 2-4x is comfortable for most artists — meaning each cm of tablet movement covers 2-4 cm on screen. Very high ratios (10x+) make precise work difficult. Very low ratios (1x) require large arm movements.

How do I measure my tablet active area?
