These terms govern your use of artcalcs.uk (the “site”). By using the site you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

1. What the site provides

The site is a free library of art and craft calculators plus reference content — covering paint and colour mixing, framing and matting, sculpture and casting, plaster and patina, canvas and surface priming, printmaking, calligraphy, digital-art sizing and art-business pricing. It is provided “as is” without account registration or payment.

2. Accuracy and your own test piece

Calculators are estimates based on manufacturer datasheets, published material densities and established studio practice, and the figures you enter. Real-world results depend on your specific materials, brand and batch, technique, application thickness, drying and firing conditions, and measurement accuracy. For anything that drives material spend or a physical result — casting volumes, plaster and resin ratios, paint and gesso coverage, framing dimensions — test on a small sample and confirm before you mix, cast, cut or commit a whole project.

Treat every result as a starting point, not a guarantee. Coverage, shrinkage and casting figures in particular vary with technique and materials, so allow a margin and buy a little extra. Chemical recipes (for example patina solutions) are indicative only — always follow the product safety data sheet and proper handling, ventilation and disposal guidance. We round and estimate conservatively, but we cannot account for every material or studio, so verify quantities and safety-critical figures independently before you commit.

3. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for:

indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from your use of the site;
loss of profits, revenue, goodwill, business interruption, or anticipated savings;
wasted or spoiled materials, mis-sized frames or castings, failed pieces, or errors or omissions in calculator output;
out-of-date citations where datasheets, material specs or conventions have since changed;
third-party links and their content.

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded under English law.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

scrape the site in bulk using automated tools faster than a reasonable human pace;
attempt to reverse-engineer, modify, or break the site’s services;
misrepresent the site’s content as official guidance or as an endorsement of a product;
use the site for any unlawful purpose.

5. Intellectual property

Page text, charts, UI design, calculator logic, and code are protected by copyright unless stated otherwise. You may:

view, save, and print pages for personal or internal business use;
link to the site from your own site or documents;
quote short extracts with attribution to ArtCalcs.

You may not: republish substantial extracts, scrape at scale for training commercial AI systems, or present the site’s content as your own.

8. Governing law
